A Mooresville man faces 20 felony charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Mooresville Police Department.

The MPD announced the arrest of Miles Reid Morgan, 33, of Community Park Lane, Mooresville, in a news release Tuesday afternoon

Officers responded to the Waterlynn subdivision on Friday, April 25, after receiving a report about the presence of explicit material involving children on an individual’s device, according to the news release.

MPD criminal investigators also responded and made contact with the individual who contacted the department.

After investigators found child sexual abuse material on the device, they arrested Morgan, according to the news release. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and seized additional electronic devices, police said.

Morgan was charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he received a $1.2 million dollar secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
