Pharos Parenting recently announced an expansion of its office and classroom space to better serve parents and families in Iredell and north Mecklenburg counties.

Located at 1602 Davie Avenue in Statesville, Pharos Parenting’s building includes a lower level that was previously leased to other businesses. When a portion of that space became available this spring, the organization acted quickly to secure the lease and began transforming it into functional program space.

“Not only will we be able to provide more offices for our growing staff, but we will now have two rooms dedicated to parenting classes,” said Tonya Fowler, executive director of Pharos Parenting. “For the past year, we have only had space for one classroom, so now it will be easier to coordinate our eight different parenting classes that we hold throughout the year.”

Staff and volunteers planned to welcome parents for the next round of parenting classes earlier this week.

Since 1987, Pharos Parenting’s mission has been to build positive parenting skills through targeted education, in-home coaching, and supportive intervention programs. They are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Statesville.
