Special to IFN

The Statesville Leisure Pool will host the 2026 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Iredell County on Saturday, February 14.

This year’s event begins with registration at 10 a.m., followed by a costume contest, the Pee Wee Plunge and plunging at 11:15 a.m. and 12 noon.

The community’s support of the 2026 Polar Plunge helps athletes across Iredell get off the sidelines and into the game.

Special Olympics athletes are never asked to pay a fee. The community’s support helps provide everything they need to experience the joy of sports. That includes sports training, equipment, facilities, uniforms and so much more.

All it takes to participate is $75 and a bit of nerve. Every chilly splash makes a much bigger wave for Special Olympics.

The Statesville Leisure Pool is located at 1877 Simonton Road in Statesville.
