Special to IFN
The Town of Mooresville is turning up the volume and turning up the flavor on Saturday, August 2, with the first-ever Rock the Park x Festival of Food Trucks Mashup, an exciting event combining two downtown favorites into one unforgettable evening.
As a part of the Rock the Park Summer Concert Series, the event will feature a free live performance by Platinum recording artist 38 Special at Liberty Park. Known for classic Southern rock hits such as “Hold On Loosely,” “Caught Up in You,” and “Rockin’ Into the Night,” 38 Special is celebrating their 50- year anniversary with a national tour.
Their performance in Mooresville will begin at 7 p.m. and the Liberty Park lawn will open for seating at 4:30 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy an opening musical performance beginning at 6 p.m.
Just steps away, on Moore Avenue and Main Street, more than 15 food trucks and dessert vendors will be stationed along Main Street between Center Avenue and Iredell Avenue as part of the Downtown Mooresville Festival of Food Trucks. Beginning at 5 p.m. guests can enjoy everything from wings, grilled cheese, crab cakes, tacos, and more.
“Bringing in a legendary act like 38 Special makes this a standout event,” said Christine Patterson, the town’s experience and engagement director. “Pairing that concert with the energy and variety of the Festival of Food Trucks creates the perfect way to spend a Saturday night downtown.”
