After another year of service locally and internationally, the Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville has selected the new board of directors for its club.

Mindy Rice, a director of development for Iredell County Hospice and Palliative Care and volunteer with Rainbow Kidz, succeeds outgoing President Kim Atwell in administration of the 21-year-old club.

Strategic priorities for the club include expanding its membership and developing partners for the Fondo Corporation and other local service projects.

“It’s an incredible honor to step into the role of president of the Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville,” said Rice. “Rotary isn’t just about service — it’s about building lasting change in our community and around the world.”

In 2024, the club contributed $52,000 to charitable causes locally and worldwide, supporting a range of impactful projects for residents and grant recipients, including a school in Nebi, Uganda. The club also responded to Hurricane Helene, contributing funds and volunteer time to relief efforts.

“This club is more than just a group of volunteers,” added Rice, “It’s a fun, supportive and inspiring circle of friends who are passionate about making a difference. I am excited to lead with purpose, service and plenty of laughter along the way.”

The Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville is part of District 7680, which continues to match donations for hurricane victims.

In addition to Rice, the board of directors sworn in were Vice President Lisa Qualls, Secretary Stephanie Richart, Treasurer Ron Shuntich and President-elect Tom Madson. Committee chairs assisting leadership include Membership Chair Craig Black and Foundation Chair Joe Marusak.
