A Harmony was arrested on Friday morning in connection with the shooting death of his wife after he called 911 and confessed to killing her.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Bobby Lee Collins, 70, of Powell Bridge Road, Harmony, in a news release.
About 8:13 a.m. on Friday, Iredell County Emergency Communications received a call from a man who identified himself as Collins, the sheriff said. The caller told ECOM personnel that he had shot his wife about 7 a.m. at his home, according to the news release.
The man said he locked the door to the house when he left, had the keys in his pocket and was sitting in his vehicle at the intersection of Powell Bridge Road and Harmony Highway, Campbell said.
Within minutes, deputies located the suspect vehicle and took Collins into custody as additional Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the home.
Iona Collins was located inside the home and was pronounced deceased by Iredell County EMS personnel.
The crime scene was secured, and members of the ICSO Homicide Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Investigators arrived and executed a search warrant. Numerous items of evidence were seized, Campbell said.
Collins was taken to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, where he was interviewed. He was charged with murder.
Magistrate M. Nethken ordered Collins held without bond.
The investigation is still ongoing.
