A Harmony man faces 10 felony charges after the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office investigated a tip related to the possession of suspected child sexual abuse material.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Jonathan Clinton Reeves, 22, of Cartwright Road, Harmony, in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation on February 21 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children related to 27 electronic files containing suspected child sexual abuse material, Campbell said. The case was immediately assigned to Special Victims Unit Detective Lane.
After securing a search warrant for the suspect’s Dropbox account, the platform identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, detectives conducted forensic analysis on electronic devices, reviewed digital evidence, and traced the suspect’s online activity, Campbell said.
Detective Lane then obtained a warrant charging Reeves with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
ICSO Warrant Squad Deputy Robbins located Reeves on September 4 and took his into custody. After being transported to the Special Victims Unit, Reeves was interviewed by Detective Lane and provided a full confession, according to the news release.
Reeves was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate M. Nethken issued a $100,000 secured bond.
This investigation remains active. Additional charges may be filed, Campbell said.
