As director, she will oversee benefits coordination, advocacy, and outreach programs designed to support the county’s more than 15,000 veterans and military families.

“We’re excited for Brittany as she steps into this new role,” said Iredell County Manager Beth Milton. “Her military background and her work with the county bring a unique perspective. We’re confident she and the Veteran Services team will continue to provide top-notch support for our veterans and their families.”

Snyder brings firsthand experience to her new role, having worked in various administrative roles with the U.S. Navy. After her discharge in 2023, she was hired by Iredell County in 2024. She has served in an administrative role and, most recently, as grants coordinator.

As a veteran, Snyder brings lived experience to her role.

“Having served over five years in the U.S. Navy with deployments around the world, I offer a unique perspective on the challenges faced by service members and their families,” she said. “That experience also fuels my passion for advocating for accessible, well-earned entitlements that truly meet the needs of our veteran community,” she shared.

Snyder earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University and will graduate with her master’s degree in public administration from Gardner-Webb University in October 2025.
