South Iredell High School student Nicholas Moore has been named one of only five finalists nationwide—and the only student from North Carolina—in the tuxedo category of the Stuck at Prom Scholarship Competition, a creative contest hosted by Duck Brand.

Moore designed and handcrafted an entire tuxedo out of duct tape, drawing inspiration from his passion for music and marching band. His remarkable design even includes a fully constructed French horn made entirely of duct tape.

The grand prize is a $15,000 scholarship, and the winner will be determined by public vote.

Community members can help Nicholas win by voting daily. To vote, visit Stuck at Prom Voting Page (https://www.duckbrand.com/stuck-at-prom/vote/tux), click on Moore’s photo, and enter an email address to submit your vote.

“We are incredibly proud of Nicholas’s creativity and dedication. His innovative design reflects the spirit and talent we see in our students every day,” said Jeff James, superintendent of Iredell-Statesville Schools. “We encourage our community to show their support by voting and sharing Nicholas’s story.”

Vote for Nicholas once per day until voting closes on Wednesday, July 9.
