The Statesville Police Department’s Traffic Division has been presented the 2024 MADD Award of Excellence for Agency of the Year.

This prestigious award was presented during the 2024 MADD Awards of Excellence ceremony held in High Point on May 8, 2025. The award honors agencies that demonstrate outstanding commitment to enforcing DWI laws, promoting traffic safety, and supporting the mission of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

This recognition reflects the hard work, proactive enforcement, and community education efforts carried out by the SPD Traffic Division to keep Statesville’s roads safe.

Representing the Statesville Police Department at the ceremony were Cpl. R. Charbonneau, Officer B. Geyer, and Officer S. Craig, whose efforts contributed to this significant achievement.

“This recognition is a testament to the proactive work of our Traffic Division,” said Police Chief David Onley. “Our officers are on the front lines every day, working to reduce impaired driving and improve safety on our roads. I’m incredibly proud of their commitment and professionalism.”
