Special to IFN

Iredell County residents are invited to contribute stories, photos, and histories for inclusion in “The Heritage of Iredell County, Vol. III”, a new volume of local history to be published as part of Iredell County’s America 250 Celebration.

The submission portal is now open at https://iredell-lib-nc.libwizard.com/f/heritagebooksubmission.

The third installment in the series follows Iredell County’s previous heritage books, published in 1980 and 2000. A limited run of 500 copies will be printed, and pre-orders are encouraged. The book will include family histories, church and business stories, and accounts from local organizations.

This project is facilitated by Iredell County’s America 250 committee and led by Iredell County Public Library staff as part of America 250 NC — North Carolina’s commemoration of the United States’ 250th anniversary and is led by the N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

The committee was established by the Iredell County Board of Commissioners and includes members from local organizations, municipal and county government, and area schools. The County received a $10,000 American 250 grant to support the publication.
