Opening weekend of Theatre Statesville’s Mississippi Queens was a rousing success, nearly selling out all three shows.

The Southern comedy, written and directed by local Dalton Isaac, has crowds rolling with laughter and rooting for small town heroines striving to save their town and solve a mystery.

From bake-offs and beauty pageants, to cookie mishaps and bold schemes to attract a documentary film crew, the cast of southern belles-turned- dancing queens serve up heart, hilarity, and a whole lot of homemade charm. With big personalities, big dreams, and even bigger hair, Mississippi Queens is a laugh-out-loud celebration of resilience, friendship, and the kind of Southern spirit you can’t bottle.

“The opening weekend of Mississippi Queens was a tremendous success. We had full houses and a lot of laughter,” said Isaac. “We’re very fortunate to have the community support for the arts here in Iredell County. Tickets are selling fast, so grab them while you can and come laugh with us this weekend.”

Performed at Avenue 316, which is located off of I-40 at 316 Sharon School Road in Statesville.
