EnergyUnited has announced the results of its 2025 Board of Directors Election.

Voting ended on September 8, and results were certified by the cooperative’s Credentials & Election (C&E) Committee members on Thursday, September 18. Three candidates were elected to serve a three-year term, beginning September 18.

For the contested election in District 3, EnergyUnited members elected Craig Black to serve a three-year term. Black has served on the EnergyUnited Board of Directors since 2019. His 34-year career in the packaging industry has focused on strategic planning, business development and marketing to many companies within different industries. Black is an active member in both state and national PACs that advocate for legislation that is beneficial for electric cooperatives and its members.

As the sole nominee from District 1, Brad Blackwelder was elected to a three-year term. Blackwelder was nominated in June when Jerry Anderson, longtime board director from District 1, announced his retirement. Anderson, a partner in Anderson Aggregates LLC and past president of the North Davie Ruritan Club, has served electric cooperative members as a board director for Crescent EMC and EnergyUnited since 1984. Blackwelder is a lifelong resident of Davie County with more than a decade of experience in local government, specializing in operations, capital projects, procurement and financial oversight.

In District 2, Ronnie Harrison was also elected to a three-year term as the sole nominee from the district. Harrison is president of the South Davidson Family Resource Center Board, past president and current member of Denton’s Lion’s Club and is on the board of Mountain Vista Health Park. He is a former chairman of Handy Sanitary District and has served as president of South Davidson Fire Department, Denton Area Chamber of Commerce and the South Davidson Jaycees.

“As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, EnergyUnited values democratic engagement from our members,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “I am proud to recognize the leadership and commitment of our newly elected board of directors, as we also honor the dedicated service of Jerry Anderson. These leaders share our commitment to excellence, and the core service pillars that EnergyUnited members value most.”
