The Troutman Community Tree Lighting set the town aglow for the holiday season on Monday night. Multiple Christmas trees, garland-wrapped light posts, and decorative holiday deer and lanterns created a festive atmosphere along Richardson Greenway, the Town Depot, and ESC Park.

The celebration at the ESC Park pavilion, enthusiastically emceed by Troutman Councilwoman Felina Harris, featured performances by the Troutman Elementary Bucket Band, a combined performance by Shinnsville United Church and Wesley Chapel Choirs, the Iredell Charter School Theater Choir, and Miles Mann.

Troutman Ruritan Club and Troutman Baking Co. provided hot cocoa and marshmallows, hot apple cider, and delicious cookies. Freedom Church served hot coffee.

Santa and Mrs. Claus also posed for photos with children, pets, and families and heard the children’s Christmas wishes.
