A western Iredell County resident faces numerous charges, including trafficking in methamphetamine, after being stopped by Troutman Police Department officers.

The TPD announced the arrest of Douglas Scott Groce, 56, of Scotts Creek Road, Statesville, in a news release on Tuesday.
After officers stopped Groce about 12:42 a.m. Tuesday on Charlotte Highway at the Interstate 77 on-ramp, they observed narcotics paraphernalia in plain view in his vehicle, police said.
During the ensuing search of the vehicle, officers found 30 grams of methamphetamine and 6 grams of cocaine, according to the news release.
Groce was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell or distribute a schedule II controlled substance, possession of cocaine, and felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances. He was taken before a magistrate and ordered held in custody at the Iredell County Detention Center on a $300,000 secure bond.
