Christian and family-friendly country and comedy artist Shellem Cline reached a career-defining milestone on Sunday night, earning the title of Artist of the Year in the Inspirational/Gospel and Christian Division at the 11th Annual Josie Music Awards.
The prestigious ceremony took place at the legendary Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn.
Recognized as the largest independent music award show in the world, the Josie Music Awards—known as The Josies—celebrate outstanding independent artists across all genres. Winners are carefully selected by a panel of industry professionals.
In an unprecedented moment for the genre, Cline became the first-ever Christian Country artist to take home a Josie Award, marking a historic achievement for faith-based country music.
“We are so proud of Shellem and are excited to have him on our roster of talent,” said Candace Owens of Tenfiftyseven Media. “Shellem is a workhorse who takes pride in his craft and is determined to succeed. This award proves that his work ethic is setting the bar for what every artist’s standard of excellence should be.”
Humbled by the honor, Cline shared his gratitude and faith from the stage.
“I’m in shock! I was thankful just to be nominated, but never thought in a million years I’d be the first Christian Country artist to win a Josie Award,” said Cline. “I want to thank my family and my kids, Ella and Lena, for inspiring me every day. Most importantly, I thank God for giving me this talent to sing. My goal has always been to put smiles on people’s faces and remind them that God loves them and has a plan for their lives.”
Cline’s latest achievement further cements his reputation as one of the leading voices in Inspirational Country and Christian music, blending heartfelt storytelling, humor, and faith into every performance.
