A large crowd of supporters attended Bella’s Heart Ball on Saturday at the Unity Center in Statesville.
It was the third annual benefit for North Iredell High School junior Isabella DiFiore’s nonprofit Bella’s Backpacks. The program, started in 2022, helps bring comfort for children seeking help at The Dove House and other children’s advocacy center.
Each backpack is lovingly packed with blankets, snacks, and other items to help the children through a difficult times
The event also brings awareness to child abuse prevention and for The America Heart Association’s Go Red For Women initiative.
The event featured performers from Statesville Dance, a DJ, dancing, child crafts, a silent auction, a photo area, dinner by JD’s Catering, and desserts.
Jennifer DiFiore, Isabella’s mother, was excited to share how successful her daughter’s event was. Donations totaled $6,490.
The Juneteenth Statesville Committee donated $500 and the Guardians of the Children Mooresville Chapter donated $3,000. Guardians of the Children President Nathan Armas also donated 100 backpacks and extra supplies.
