Pharos Parenting will hold its annual Downtown Statesville Chocolate Stroll on Valentine’s Day, February 14. This fundraiser, at $10 per ticket, supports the work of Pharos Parenting and promotes business in Downtown Statesville.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., participants will receive a chocolate passport at the Pharos Parenting tent in front of The Gondolier in Downtown Statesville. The passport will have the names of the 25 participating businesses as well as a map to help people plan their walk.
Every participating business will have a piece of specialty chocolate, as well as a stamp to mark passports. Participants who return completed, stamped passports to the Pharos Parenting tent by 5 p.m. will be placed in a drawing for $100 in Downtown Dollars presented by The Gondolier.
Proceeds from the Chocolate Stroll will directly benefit Pharos Parenting’s programs, which provide targeted education, resources, and one-on-one support to families at no cost. Participants in Saturday’s event help create brighter, safer futures for children in Iredell County and the surrounding areas.
“This event is a win-win,” said Nate Saunders, communications director at Pharos Parenting. “Not only are we raising money for local child abuse prevention, but we are getting 250 people to visit 25 businesses in Downtown Statesville on a Saturday in February. We’re so excited to see how this event grows again this year.”
Modern Legal is sponsoring this year’s Chocolate Stroll.
