Troutman and Shepherds fire rescue personnel were alerted for a structure fire off Autumn Leaf Road in Troutman about 1:32 p.m. on Monday.
Arriving units reported heavy fire in a two-story outbuilding and a working fire was transmitted. Mount Mourne Fire Department and Iredell County EMS were added to the alarm along with Central Fire Department’s Air Van.
A second alarm was quickly transmitted, and additional units responded to the scene. Three hose lines were put into operation as crews battled the heavily involved structure fire. The fire was placed under control at 2:09 p.m., and crews continued to overhaul and hit hot spots hours after the control time.
One firefighter sustained a minor burn and was treated at the scene by EMS personnel.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause. Autumn Leaf Road was closed in both directions for several hours as crews operated at the scene. Troutman Fire Rescue Chief Wesley Morris was in command of the operation.
