The Gemstone District (Iredell County) Cub Scouts recently held the county-level Pinewood Derby at the Rocky Mount Church in Mooresville. The race included the top three racers from seven different Cub Scout Packs from across the county. The Scouts raced their cars that they had constructed from kits on an inclined track at the church.

The top three finishers were:

♦ 1st Place: Leyton Jones, Pack # 171
♦ 2nd Place: Keith Weston, Pack # 166
♦ 3rd Place: Haley Peters, Pack # 377
