Iredell Health System announced Thursday that Sarah Hannah has been named assistant vice president of Nursing and Patient Care Services. She recently served as director of 5 North and interim director of 1 North at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Hannah brings over 15 years of experience in bedside nursing and nursing leadership, working in inpatient medical-surgical, intensive and progressive care, emergency nursing, and some areas of surgical services. She earned undergraduate degrees in both Spanish and sociology before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Jacksonville University.
“I am humbled and excited to continue leading our nursing team. We have a team that truly cares for our community and patients, and I look forward to all the wonderful outcomes we will achieve together,” said Hannah.
In addition to her clinical experience, Hannah is a certified yellow belt in Lean Six Sigma, received the Daisy Nurse Leader of the Year award in 2023 and has provided a presentation at the National Magnet Conference on “A Progressive, Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Coordination Care.”
“We are very pleased that Sarah and her family are part of our community,” shared Becky Wagner, vice president of Nursing and Patient Care Services. “I look forward to seeing the many contributions Sarah will make to our nursing team, organization and community.”
In her free time, Hannah enjoys baking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her two elementary-aged children keep her very busy.
“Working for a locally governed health system that assesses and meets the needs of the local community is important to me,” said Hannah. “I was raised in Alexander County, and the ability to serve the community that helped raise me is an amazing opportunity and blessing.”
