The Iredell Arts Council hosted the Mitchell Community College Student Art Show on April 1, celebrating the creativity and dedication of the college’s emerging artists.
The exhibition, presented by the Mitchell Community College Art Department under the leadership of Department Chair Rogelio Calvo and Instructor Paul Farmer, featured a diverse collection of student work spanning drawing, film, design, and three-dimensional art.
Family members, faculty, and community supporters gathered at the Arts Council to recognize the students’ accomplishments and experience the breadth of artistic talent being cultivated within the college’s art program.
As part of the evening’s celebration, scholarship funding provided by Kewaunee Scientific was awarded to several student artists, recognizing their artistic excellence and supporting their continued education and creative development.
The annual student exhibition highlights the strong partnership between Mitchell Community College and the Iredell Arts Council, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting while engaging the broader community in the arts.
The Iredell Arts Council remains committed to supporting emerging artists and creating opportunities for local students to share their work with the public.
