Iredell County Animal Services is the only municipally ran shelter in Iredell County tasked to provide various animal welfare related services to both the citizens and animals whom reside within the county. Some of those services include, but aren’t limited to taking in owned animals for numerous reasons, receiving strays, providing protective custody assistance and other animal welfare assistance as required. In a given year, we can take in upwards of 4,000 animals.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide child protective service investigations and family assessments, regarding reports of child abuse, neglect and dependency, as mandated by the Statutes of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.  This position will also be responsible for provision of Child Protective Services Intake, Child Protective In-Home Services and Foster Care Services as directed by the supervisor, according to the agency’s needs and to allow for the smooth transition of cases between services.  This position will back up Child Protective Service On-Call staff as needed and also provide assists, kinship assessments and monitoring of cases for out-of-county requests.

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for case management of two programs within Adult Services. The programs provide services to disabled adults age 18 and older, and are for Medicaid eligible recipients. The first program is the Community Alternatives Program (CAP) which provides home and community-based services to adults who are at risk of institutionalization in a nursing home. The second program is the Special Assistance In Home program which provides essential support to low-income individuals who are at risk of entering residential facilities, and a cash supplement and additional support services enable them to remain in the home.
