Iredell Health System recently appointed two new members to its Board of Directors and five members to the Board of Trustees, continuing its decades-long legacy of community involvement.

Iredell Health System is led by a Board of Directors who are elected by a larger Board of Trustees.

The two new board members are:
• Vivek Trivedi, MD, Piedmont HealthCare Comprehensive Digestive Care Center; and
• Melinda Childress, PharmD, Banner Drug

“I am honored and privileged to join the Board of Directors,” said Trivedi. “I know my medical knowledge will be instrumental for facility expansion and new equipment investments. As a physician, I see Iredell Memorial as one of the best hospitals because of the compassionate care that patients receive and leadership’s focus on the community. The secret of patient care is caring for the patient, and I see that from everyone who works at Iredell.”

“It is a privilege to serve on this board,” added Childress. “As a pharmacist and local business owner, I value the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare in our community. I’m excited to collaborate with health system leadership and fellow board members to help guide continued growth, innovation and service to the patients and families who depend on it.”

The two members completing their appointments are:

• Jamye deBot, deBotech, Inc.

The members of the Board of Directors for 2026 are:

Board of Trustees

Similar to the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees plays a role in governance and oversight of the health system, ensuring Iredell is aligning with its policies while promoting the sound development of the organization.

The Board of Trustees is a diverse group of Iredell County citizens who represent various townships within the county. They provide fundamental feedback and input as to how the health system can continue to improve. There are over 170 dedicated individuals on the Board of Trustees.

Five new trustees were appointed at the January meeting. They are:
• David Bullins, Mitchell Community College;
• Rogelio Calvo, Artist;
• Travis Eason, MD, Piedmont HealthCare Bone & Joint;
• Aaron Simmons, Broad Street United Methodist Church; and
• Jips Zachariah, MD, Piedmont HealthCare Cardiovascular Specialists
