Iredell Physician Network, a part of Iredell Health System, has welcomed Amy Kilpatrick to Iredell Psychiatry. She recently served as case management coordinator for Iredell Davis Behavioral Health Hospital.

A board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 13 years of healthcare experience, Kilpatrick earned an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Rowan Cabarrus Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Gardner Webb University. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the N.C. Nurses Association, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the National Association of Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioners – USA.
In October 2025, Kilpatrick was recognized as a Guardian Angel recipient through the Iredell Health Foundation for her exceptional care and compassion.
“I have an individualized approach to patient care, meeting patients where they are to provide care from a holistic perspective,” Kilpatrick shared. “I believe in providing compassionate, evidence-based practice care and support for those individuals navigating mental health challenges and crises.”
Through life experiences, she has gained a passion for mental health, become an advocate for individuals to increase mental health awareness and helped to break the stigma that surrounds mental illness.
“Patients can expect me to treat them as I would my own family members — with dignity and respect. I believe in building a rapport with my patients to gain knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses and establish treatment goals to help them achieve healthier versions of themselves,” she explained.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of over 30 years, her four children and four grandchildren. She also loves to read, knit and work on DIY pictures as well as spend self-care time relaxing on the beach.
“Self-care is important to maintain optimal mental health, so always take time for yourself to relax and rejuvenate,” she said.
