The Lake Norman Fire Department hosted a live burn training exercise at a house located on Lake View Shores Loop on Lake Norman on Saturday morning. The property owner donated the structure for that purpose. Mount Mourne, Mooresville and Cornelius Fire Departments also participated in the training. Firefighters conducted multiple training scenarios, including search and rescue operations. The rain did not dampen the training. Once the structure was deemed unsafe, it was allowed to burn down under the direct supervision of fire fighters.
