Mooresville Girl Scout Service Unit 136 hosted its third annual Rope Runner Derby on Friday, March 20, at the Fuzion Teen Center. Scouts from across all levels gathered for an evening of racing, creativity, and hands-on fun.

Participants arrived with their custom-built Rope Runners, making final adjustments and enjoying craft activities before the races.
Rope Runners are wooden racers that travel along two parallel ropes using gravity and balance.
Each Scout builds and decorates their own, resulting in unique designs that reflect their creativity.
As races began, Scouts cheered each other on while their racers sped to the finish. Awards were presented for the fastest times, along with categories such as Most Creative, Leader’s Choice, Best Animal Design, and Girl Scout Spirit. All participants received a commemorative patch.
Now in its third year, the derby continues to promote STEM learning, creativity, and teamwork, and remains a favorite tradition within the service unit.
