Mooresville Arts on Monday announced the results of its 22nd Annual Youth Art Show.
A total of 116 young artists entered this year’s show, submitting artwork ranging from paintings, drawings, photography and pottery to mixed media. More than 400 people attended the artists’ receptions on Friday, March 6.
“One of my favorite things to do at Mooresville Arts is to judge the Youth Art Show,” said Mooresville Arts Board Chair Dixon Handshaw said. “This show epitomizes our mission to our community by giving emerging artists an opportunity to showcase their work. If you have never been in to see this show, you are missing out. It is worth the trip.
“Their artwork is something you need to see. Young artists take risks, they see things older artists sometimes don’t see any more. I am always impressed by the authenticity and the creativity of these young artists.”
A panel of 10 artists, teachers and arts professionals helped judge this show. Thomas & Webber, Law at the Lake, sponsored the show.
The show will be on display through March 26. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m.
