Two beloved community traditions will join forces for one unforgettable day in Downtown Mooresville on Saturday, May 9. The Mooresville South-Iredell Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Mooresville are teaming up to present the Mooresville Day x Race City Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As part of the nationwide America250 celebration, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this year’s event will not only celebrate Mooresville’s strong sense of community, but also its deep-rooted heritage as Race City, USA.
This collaborative festival brings together the energy and community spirit of Mooresville Day with the entrepreneurial showcase of the Race City Festival, creating a high-energy experience that honors both tradition and innovation.
“This partnership brings together the best of both events,” said Experience & Engagement Director, Christine Patterson. “By combining Mooresville Day and the Race City Festival during this milestone America250 year, we’re creating an even bigger celebration that highlights our community, supports local businesses, and showcases the racing heritage that makes Mooresville unique.”
Festival-goers can expect a full lineup of activities and attractions stretching throughout Main Street and Broad Street, including:
♦ Local Business & Vendor Marketplace: Cruise through a bustling marketplace featuring local businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, and makers showcasing unique products and services.
♦ Food & Beverage: Fuel up with a variety of food trucks, downtown dining options, and refreshing beverages from local breweries.
♦ Family-Friendly Activities: Kids and families can enjoy rides, face painting, games, and interactive experiences throughout the festival.
♦ Live Entertainment: A performance stage will keep the momentum going with live music and entertainment throughout the day.
♦ Race-Themed Experiences: Celebrate Mooresville’s racing legacy with interactive, race-inspired activities and participation from local race teams that bring the spirit of Race City, USA to life.
The festival will transform Downtown Mooresville into a lively hub of entertainment, shopping, and community engagement, where community pride and racing culture come together for a one-of-a-kind experience.
To keep things running smoothly, a park-and-ride shuttle will operate continuously throughout the day, picking up attendees at One Mooresville Center (750 W. Iredell Avenue) and dropping off at the Charles Mack Citizen Center (215 N. Main Street).
