South Iredell, Mooresville, Shepherds and Atwell fire and rescue personnel responded to a structure fire on Linwood Road about 2:31 p.m. on Monday. Mooresville Engine 1 was first on the scene and transmitted a working fire with heavy fire showing from the structure. The Mount Mourne Fire Department and Iredell County EMS were added to the alarm, along with a call for additional staffing. Two hose lines were put into operation as firefighters battled a fire in the attic that was fueled by strong winds. Mooresville police officers shut down Linwood Road and North Main Street while crews operated at the scene and a water supply was run across North Main Street. No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation. The fire was placed under control at 3:25 p.m.
