Some 196 participants in the Town of Troutman’s 14th Annual Sprint into Spring 5K/10K navigated a new course winding through quiet neighborhoods on Saturday morning.
The Sprint into Spring is the first town event to showcase the America 250 celebration. In the spirit of celebrating America’s birthday in 2026, race T-shirts featured a patriotic theme, which will be woven throughout many of Troutman’s events this year.
Competitive runners, families, kids, seniors, toddlers in strollers, walkers, and canines also joined the 5K course, which was repeated for 10K runners.
Prior to the run, Kaitlyn Sparks sang the National Anthem, and DJ Special D blasted energizing tunes for the runners throughout the morning.
Each participant received a T-shirt and finisher medal, and the top three in each age group earned a trophy and finish medal.
Sponsors included KPAC, Health Hax, Campbell Masonic Lodge, Charlotte Running, Liberty Tax, Freedom Church, Troutman First United Methodist Church, and Baobest.
Sponsor Card My Yard provided a photo and award ceremony backdrop, and Fallstown Baptist Church provided a Brown Street water station for participants.
Troutman Police Department and Parks and Recreation staff provided security and safety for the race.
