Shepherds and Troutman fire departments conducted fire training on Wednesday at Shepherds’ training facility. The scenario given to firefighters was a car fire in front of an apartment complex at 2 a.m. The first unit on the scene reported a fully involved car fire and found that the fire had spread to the first and second floors of the complex. Additional crews stretched two hose lines and began their advance into the two-story training facility. Firefighters conducted searches and found four victims (150-pound dummies) and removed them from the fire building. The training was a success and personnel from both departments communicated well.
