Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Kimberly Ann Beasley, 49, of Lamb Road, Statesville, in a news release.
ICSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Old Mocksville Road on Saturday for assistance, Campbell said. After arriving at the scene, deputies were advised that a subject had fled the area.
Deputies conducted a search of the property and located Beasley, who was attempting to hide inside a pontoon boat in the backyard, according to the news release. She was detained by deputies.
During the investigation, deputies learned Beasley was wanted on charges in Grayson County, Va. She was taken into custody on a fugitive warrant.
Detectives later obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence. While searching the area where Beasley had been hiding, they found a purse containing multiple bags of methamphetamine, Campbell said.
As a result of the investigation, Beasley was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, a misdemeanor drug offense and misdemeanor resisting an officer.
Magistrate Thompson issued a $30,000 secured bond for the three local charges. She also received a $100,000 secured bond on the fugitive warrant from Virginia.
