A suspect faces numerous felony charges, including drug trafficking, following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Following a lengthy undercover investigation, ICSO Narcotics Division detectives, with the assistance of patrol deputies, executed a search warrant at a home located at 144 Winford Road near Troutman on Friday, February 27, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.

During the search, deputies seized MDMA (also known as ecstasy), marijuana, marijuana wax, and several items used to make crack cocaine, Campbell said. They also found a firearm. 

A resident of the home, identified as Chakiris Legeorge Ramsey, 44, was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of Felony Trafficking of Cocaine by Possession, Felony Manufacturing Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Marijuana Wax, Felony Maintain a Dwelling for the Sale or Use of a Controlled Substance, and Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

During the investigation, detectives determined that Ramsey was selling cocaine from the home, Campbell said. Ramsey previously served time in federal prison for cocaine-related offenses, according to the news release.

Ramsey was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he appeared before Magistrate Stanley, who set his bond at $400,000.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to combating illegal narcotics activity and ensuring those who repeatedly break the law are brought to justice.
