Three suspects face charges in connection with a residential break-in and larceny in northern Iredell County following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Adam Steven High, 42, of County Line Road, Harmony; Candice Marie Daniel, 24, of Brookshire and Wallace Lane, Taylorsville; and Michael Ray Elam, 46, of Coolwood Drive, Statesville, in a news release Wednesday.

Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a breaking and entering in progress on White Oak Branch Road on Tuesday.

The homeowner reported coming face-to-face with a suspect actively stealing items and loading them into a pickup truck, Campbell said. When he was confronted, the suspect, who was dressed in camouflage, fled into a nearby wooded area, according to the news release.

Deputies quickly secured the scene and set up a perimeter while detectives, crime scene investigators, K-9 units, and a drone were deployed to search for the suspect, Campbell said.

During the search, a nearby resident alerted deputies to two suspicious individuals emerging from the woods near Old Mocksville Road. Deputies located High and Daniel, both covered in mud, in that area, according to the news release.

High matched the description of the suspect. As the investigation progressed, detectives gathered evidence linking High and Daniel to the break-in. A third suspect, Elam, was also identified.

High was arrested on scene and held without bond due to being on pretrial release for similar offenses. Daniel was brought before Magistrate Thompson and received a $15,000 secured bond. Elam was subsequently located, arrested, and given a $10,000 secured bond.

All three suspects are charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering.
