Statesville Woman’s Club installs 14 new members

The Statesville Woman’s Club held a new member induction ceremony at the club’s historic clubhouse on West End Avenue during the club’s March meeting. 

The club’s 14 new members were recognized: Christy Schafer Allen, Wendy Badger, Ann Bejcek, Stacy Nicole Blakney, Darlaine Carson, Paula Rose-Campbell, Jessie Conley, Alisha Cordle, Shayne Jovicevic, Karen Kidd, Kristi Moffett, Mary Perkins, Bridgett L. Thompson and Anita Waugh.

After the welcome by Club President Kim Mulrey, Club Chaplin Joanna Gaither lead a devotion. Past President and Membership Team member Dana White spoke about the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the connection to the state, district and local clubs.

New members were called forward to be recognized and then were “pinned,” presented a certificate and a red rose. To conclude the meeting, the members recited “A Collect for Club Women” by Mary Stewart.

Annual Geranium Sale

The club is currently taking orders for the Annual Geranium Sale, which will be held on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ordering is available online or by contacting Geranium Sale Chairman Janine Burchette. Next Meeting

The club’s next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9, at the historic clubhouse located at 515 West End Avenue. There will be a time of social fellowship at 5:30 p.m. and meeting at 6 p.m. The Education and Environment Community Service Program will lead the meeting with guest speaker Jenny Levins, Community Engagement Librarian for Iredell County Public Library. She will be discussing the Iredell County Public Library Summer Reading Program. All members, guests and interested women are invited to attend.
