In an exciting milestone, Tilley’s Dance Academy dancers attended their first competition of the 2026 season, Epic Dance Showcase, last weekend. After months of dedication, rehearsals, and hard work in the studio, the dancers took the stage with confidence and passion, proudly representing Tilley’s Dance Academy.

Throughout the weekend, the team delivered outstanding performances across multiple routines, impressing judges and audiences alike. Their talent, commitment, and teamwork were reflected in the many awards they brought home. Tilley’s Dance Academy dancers earned numerous Diamond, High Platinum, and Platinum awards, judges awards and Epic Moments, recognizing the high level of technique, artistry, and performance quality demonstrated on stage.

In addition to adjudication awards, several routines also placed among the competition’s overall high scores, a significant achievement in a field of talented dancers from studios across the region. There were a few routines that received “Epic Moments,” earning the bell ring — a recognition given to performances that truly stand out and leave a lasting impression on the judges.

A particularly special moment of the weekend came when Tilley’s Dance Academy’s STARS class — a group created for dancers with special needs — also took the stage to compete. The dancers delivered a joyful and inspiring performance, earning a Platinum award along with the Overall High Score for their category. Their routine also received an Epic Moment bell ring from the judges, giving them the chance to celebrate their unforgettable performance.

Another highlight of the weekend came when one of Tilley’s talented dancers, Hazel Toothaker, was selected to receive a scholarship to attend an upcoming Epic Dance Showcase convention. This honor recognizes dancers who demonstrate exceptional promise, performance quality, and dedication to their craft.

Studio directors and instructors expressed immense pride in the dancers’ accomplishments and the way they supported one another throughout the weekend. For many performers, this competition marked the beginning of a new season filled with opportunities to grow, challenge themselves, and share their love of dance.

Tilley’s Dance Academy looks forward to continuing the 2026 competition season and building on the success of this exciting first event. Congratulations to all of the dancers for their hard work,
