Troutman officials welcomed three new businesses to the downtown Wagner Street area on Thursday morning with ribbon cuttings to celebrate their arrival. The owners of Troutman Chiropractic and Wellness, Wagner Street Bistro, and Troutman Provisions Company all supported each other’s celebrations on this occasion.

TROUTMAN CHIROPRACTIC AND WELLNESS

The grand opening at Troutman Chiropractic and Wellness (112 Wagner Street) featured Troutman native Dr. Dylan Crawford, who has returned to his roots and taken over the clinic space where he once worked as an assistant to Dr. Doug Finley before going to school to earn his chiropractic credentials.

Crawford’s interest in chiropractic care began as a teen when an injury left him with severe lower back pain. Chiropractic care relieved his pain, helped him return to his former active lifestyle, and inspired him to earn an undergraduate degree in biology and his doctorate in chiropractic.

The clinic offers adjustments, ultrasound, therapy, manual therapy, electrical stimulation, dry needling, targeted muscle therapy, rehabilitation exercises, spinal decompression, and laser therapy.

WAGNER STREET BISTRO

Officials next cut the ribbon at the Wagner Street Bistro (149 Wagner Street) with owners Shane and Shaunna Dooley and their staff.

The cozy restaurant, decorated with historical Troutman photographs, is a family affair, with daughters 15-year-old Kaylin and 17-year-old Taylor and their former New York restaurant employee Krista Calabrese among the friendly faces working at the front counter to greet and serve patrons.

The couple, who have worked in restaurants since their teens, are in the kitchen daily cooking up the dishes they learned decades ago from the owner of the New York restaurant Shane purchased at age 25.

The food is cooked from scratch each day, and the couple brings in a variety of crusty breads from New Jersey each week, along with some dessert favorites from New York to go with house-made cannolis.

In addition to the large and varied NY Italian menu, the bistro, which opened in December, also offers daily lunch and weekend specials and special occasion menus.

Wagner Street Bistro is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for dine-in or take-out. Their patio is also now open to enjoy with the warmer spring temperatures, with plans for occasional music and later summer hours ahead.

TROUTMAN PROVISIONS COMPANY

Troutman Provisions Company also held its official ribbon cutting with owners Patrick and Sara Bannon, along with their children Aiden and Kian, who run a candy section in the store.

The couple, who also own Bottles and Taps at the Old Pharmacy across the street, decided to open a shop in mid-December offering locally produced meat, fruit, and vegetables, bakery items (including gluten and allergy friendly), distinctive gifts for all ages, home decor, pet items, and natural health and beauty creations.

The welcoming space features rustic tables and shelves displaying carefully curated local crafts, local honeys and olive oils, unique pottery, and old-fashioned candies and other sweet treats. Display racks of a large variety of fresh bakery items and sweet treats and coolers of local meats, dairy, and produce line one wall.

The store, located at 145 Wagner Street, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The store posts new product arrivals and specials each day on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=61582470706410.
