Troutman Fire Rescue was alerted for a vehicle fire on Talon Trail about 7:57 p.m. on Saturday. Responding units were notified that the fire was burning the trees and threatening a structure, and the alarm was upgraded to a structure fire. Troutman Engine 1 was first on scene and transmitted a fully involved van fire. As firefighters were battling the fire the gas tank was compromised and the fire grew larger. Crews had to use foam to extinguish the fire. It was placed under control at 8:47 PM. No injuries were reported, and the structure was not damaged.
