The West Iredell Fire Department held its annual awards dinner on Friday, January 30. Awards were given out to several members for their hard work and dedication to the department and community.

Service Awards

A 20-year service award was presented to Assistant Chief Almurray Connor (left), who is pictured with Chief Jerry Houston. Tommy Wingler, who was not present, was recognized for 25 years of service.

Training Award

An award for the most training hours in 2025 was presented to Firefighter Keith Bills (left), who is pictured with Assistant Chief Josh Deal.

Medical Responder of the Year

The Medical Responder of the Year was presented to Firefighter/EMT Anthony Hall (left), who is pictured with Chief Jerry Houston.

 Rookie of the Year

The Rookie of the Year Award was presented to Firefighter Brady McCoy (left), who is pictured with  Chief Jerry Houston.

Chiefs Award

The Chiefs Award was presented to Captain Morgan McCoy (left), who is pictured with Chief Jerry Houston.

 Officer of the Year

The Officer of the Year Award was presented to Lt. Reid Kennedy (left), who is pictured with Chief Jerry Houston.

 Firefighter of the Year

The Firefighter of the Year Award was presented to Firefighter Gabriel Gomez (left), who is pictured with Chief Jerry Houston.
