It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Alex Baker, who left this world far too soon on June 17, 2025, at age 21.

Born on October 19, 2003, Alex was a radiant light in the lives of everyone who knew him, embodying a spirit that was both beautiful and inspiring.

Alex is survived by his devoted mother, Dr. Joanna Baker; his cherished brothers, Samuel and Ryan; and his loving grandfathers, Richard Rainford and James C Baker. He also leaves behind uncles, John Rainford, James B. Baker (Jamie), aunt Carin Baker, and cousins Gianna and Harlon Baker.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Samuel A. Baker; uncle, Brian Baker; and grandmothers, Mary A. Baker and Ida Powell. Alex will be deeply missed by many close friends and relatives.

An incredibly talented and intelligent young man, Alex had a passion for nature and a profound appreciation for music. He cultivated deep friendships and was known for his ability to connect with others, making each and every person feel valued and loved. His gentle spirit and vibrant energy will remain etched in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Alex’s life at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, from 4 to 10 p.m. In honoring his memory, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the love he shared with everyone around him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service following at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the service from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
