Ava Jean Wall Parson, 73, was born in Iredell County on July 15, 1951, to the late Annie Lee Ramseur. She entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was married to Thomas Michael Parson, who preceded her in death. A daughter, Teresa Walls, and two brothers, Randy Walls and Portland Ramseur, also preceded her in death.
Ava was a student at Unity High School and a member of Greater New Mt. Olive. She loved fishing, gardening, and cooking. Ava worked at Intercraft Manufacturing as a machine operator.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her life three sons, Thomas Lamont Parson of Galloway, Ohio, and William Tyrone Parson and Chadwick Eugene Parson, both of Statesville; one brother, Bishop Wilford (Bishop Deborah) Walls, both of Statesville, N.C.; one sister, Choyce Dudley-Ramseur of Phoenix, Ariz.; seventeen grandchildren, Ambresia Murdock, Thomas “TJ” Parson II, Thomas Parson Jr. (“LJ”), Thomas Parson III (“MJ”), Brittany Parson, Makia Braswell, Xavier Parson, Sayon Cunningham, Joshua Cunningham, Darius Tucker, Ethan Parson, Amani Parson, and Zhavia Parson; and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Pastor Keshia Minor Carr will officiate, and Bishop Wilford Walls will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
