Betty Anne Bartolac, 99, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of Nevada, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by love and family.

Born to Flossie R. and Jay W. Jones, Betty was a woman of many hobbies, compassion, and grace. Her career spanned a remarkable array of roles; she worked at Farm & Home Savings & Loan, Overland Park City Hall, and as a part number typist for Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac. She also taught special education and later served as Office Manager for Catholic Charities USA, work that aligned with her faith and commitment to helping others.

Betty was a proud member of the Catholic Church and a dedicated USO volunteer. She enjoyed riding her beloved horse “Muggins” with whom she won honors at the American Royal for 3-Gaited Horse. She loved playing the piano, dancing, scrapbooking, sudoku puzzles, playing bridge and solitaire, and delighting in life’s simplest pleasures such as enjoying chocolate as if it was a hobby.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her former husband, Henry Bartolac Jr.; her sisters Dorothy Jones, Marietta Thompson, and Ruth Collins; and her dear friend, Charles Gibbs.

She was survived by her children, Jeanne Schlatter (Ken), Cyndi McGrath (John), Jan Flynn (Ray), Jo Brill (Casey), John Bartolac, and Jackie Hiatt (Tim). Along with her 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and many other beloved family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends until 7 p.m.
