Brenda Alexander Waugh, 82, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at The Greens at Maple Leaf in Statesville, N.C. She was born October 1943, in Statesville, a daughter of the late Jack Taylor Alexander and Helen Ostwalt Misenheimer. She was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Willie Misenheimer.

Brenda was a devoted wife to Jerry Wayne Waugh, sharing 63 wonderful years together. She was a lifelong member of Vanderburg United Methodist Church. She loved her family deeply and was proud of her children and grandchildren. Brenda cherished her friendships, many of which began during her school days at Brawley School and others that grew from her job at The Little Kitchen.

She retired as a Quality Control Specialist from Beacon Sweets but was best known from her career as a waitress at The Little Kitchen in Mooresville, where she shared countless laughs and built lasting friendships with “the girls” and customers who grew to love her.

Brenda enjoyed cooking and baking, tending to her flowers, caring for her pets, and crafting. She loved the color red and especially cherished the Christmas season, which brought her so much joy.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a daughter, Baby Waugh.

She is survived by husband, Jerry W. Waugh; children, Stephen Waugh (Tracy Waugh) and Amy Waugh Corriher (Michael Corriher); and her cherished grandchildren, Caroline Waugh, Madeleine Waugh Crowley (Michael), Victoria Waugh, John Corriher (Sarah), and Lauren Corriher.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Vanderburg United Methodist Church, with Reverend Buddy Compton officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderburg United Methodist Church, 1809 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, NC.
