Bruce Leon Wilson Sr., 78, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, in New Orleans, La.

Bruce was born November 22, 1946, in St. Lawrence County, N.Y., to the late John Jacob Wilson and Leona LaRue Wilson. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army and was the owner of Bruce Wilson Builders. He was an adventurous, free spirit who enjoyed traveling, winemaking, gardening and farming.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Amanda Wilson and one brother.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bruce L. Wilson Jr. (Amanda); daughter, Angela W. Rodriguez (Ricky); stepson, Nathan Rogers; stepdaughter, Mary Beth Gonzales; eight grandchildren; seven sisters; eight brothers; and his devoted companion, Judy Jordan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Burner officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 10 until 11 a.m.
