Charles Larry Jones Sr., 77, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center.

Charles was born May 2, 1948, in Putnam County, Fla., the son of the late Margaret Jones Dowling and step-dad Lonnie Dowling.

Charles proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and was a truck driver for most of his working career. He enjoyed working on cars and going to the races.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Jones Jr.; and a brother, Dean Dowling.

Those left to cherish and honor Charles’ memories include his daughter, Christie Willis of Statesville; his sons, Kenneth Jones (Angel) and Terry Jones (Amber), all of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Kendall Jones, Kevin Jones, Karissa Jones, Harmony West, Odessa West, Quin West, Dustin Lee Jones, and Tyler Lee Jones; his sister, Sheila Crites of Orlando, Fla.; and his brothers, Donnie Dowling and Earl Dowling both of Orlando, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Paul Schronce will officiate.
