It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” William Crowe Jr., 63, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., who died on June 15, 2025. He is now celebrating in heaven with our Lord Jesus after an accidental drowning in Lake Norman.

Charlie was born on June 30, 1961. He was the son of the late Charles William Crowe Sr. and Betty Jean Crowe. After high school, Charlie entered the workforce and began a long and very successful career, which started with Eastern Airlines, and most recently, Travelport.

Charlie always had a passion for sports and social activities. As a young adult, he loved playing men’s softball in various leagues and participating in numerous tournaments. He enjoyed fishing, especially at Santee Cooper Lake in South Carolina with lifelong friends. In the last few years, he had grown to love tennis and played with loved ones and friends, and on a competitive level. Charleston and Hilton Head, S.C., were also on his list of favorite places.

If Charlie wasn’t playing tennis, then he was on the lake. Lake Norman has been a part of his life for over 40 years, beginning with a family cabin in Mooresville, N.C. He enjoyed boating and water skiing every weekend. The lake was his happy place and his haven. Charlie loved entertaining and hosting family and friends all summer long. He was always out on the water with his lake family, whether he was cruising on the pontoon or floating on pool noodles.

Our beloved Charlie was a devoted son, an amazing brother, a loving husband, the best “Uncle Chachi,” a supportive stepfather, and the best friend anyone could ever hope for. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Crowe; and is survived by his sister Brenda Frazier (the late Tom Frazier), his nieces Addie Cogdill (Jamie) and Erin Cook (Brian), great nephews and niece Jaxon, Landen, and Ally, his step mother Jane Crowe, his step daughters Alexandra Davis (Klayton) and Dr. Jordan Nolan (Ali) and his beloved granddaughter Blakley Davis (Ruffle Butts).

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C. The family will receive friends before the service from 12 to 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, his family would like to request donations to Impactuniv.com, a Bible College dear to Charlie’s heart.
