Clarence Vernell Walker Jr., 60, affectionately known as “V-Love” and Big Cookie, was born in Rowan County, on August 11, 1964, to to the late Clarence Walker Sr. and Mary Lee Jackson Moore. He passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Clarence graduated with with the Class of 1982 and went on to work as a welder at TCS Welding Company. Beyond his skilled trade, Clarence was known for his artistic talent and creative spirit. His memory will live on through the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his beloved daughter, Tonya Roseboro Zsarmani (Xavier); brothers, Ardonley “Dubie” Walker (Valerie) and Brandon “Lucky” Walker (Janice); both of Atlanta, Ga., and Jorge Walker (Kathy), of Statesville, N.C.; sisters, Sonya Walker of Charlotte, N.C., Debra Walker (Warren Jones), Valerie Terry King (Kevin), and Cora “Peaches” Faulkner (Marcus), all of Statesville; a sister-in-law, Monica Walker of Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Nathaniel “Nate” Jackson (Barbara Ann), Ernest “Beaty” Jackson (Sherry), William Kimbrough, and Samuel Kimbrough; nephews, Corey Walker, Ardonley Walker Jr., (Brittany) and Travis White (Yolanda) of Statesville, N.C.; nieces, Princess Jones, of Raleigh, Clarissa Wesley (Rudy) of Atlanta, Ga., Cody White of Statesville, N.C., Brittany Walker of Charlotte, N.C., Kenya Nicholson, Tiffany M., Warrina M., and Latoua M; nephews, Corey Walker, Ardonley Walker Jr., and Elijah Walker of Atlanta, Ga., D’Andre Moore (Sheadale), Kevin “KJ” King Jr. (Brittany), and Travis White (Yolanda) of Statesville, N.C., Captain Tevin D. King of Orlando, Fla., Kevin and Tevin Walker, both of Charlotte, N.C., Amauri Gibbs of Statesville, N.C., and Giovanni Dalton of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Shakia Scott (Jarail), Jayda Zsarmani, Olivia Zsarmani, Laila Zsarmani and Xavier Zsarmani Jr.; great grandchildren, Skyler Scott and Donxayden Zsarmani; a special cousin, Georgia Westbrooks of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Reverend Ardonely Walker will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
