Cristina Ann Grossu Biffle, 35, and Ryder Jack Biffle, 5, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on December 18, 2025. Cristina was born in London, England, on January 10, 1990, to Cathy and John Grossu. Ryder was born in Huntersville, N.C., on September 9, 2020, to the late Greg Biffle and Cristina.
Cristina and Ryder were preceded in death by Greg Biffle, Ryder’s half sister Emma Elizabeth Biffle, Ryder’s grandfather Jack Biffle, and Cristina’s grandparents Ann and John Banas and Lucia and Mircea Grossu. They are survived by Cristina’s parents and Ryder’s devoted grandparents, Cathy “Nene” and John “Baba” Grossu and Sally Biffle whose lives were profoundly shaped by the love they shared with Cristina and Ryder and who will miss them beyond measure. Cristina and Ryder leave behind a large and loving extended family, including Cristina’s half-sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored them and will carry their memories forward.
Cristina graduated from the University of Southern California in 2012 and received her MBA from Purdue University in 2023. Cristina touched the lives of so many people with her profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, drive and gregarious outgoing nature. She was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone. She had a way of making people around her feel just as strong and beautiful about themselves as she was herself.
Cristina was a realtor based in Mooresville. She recently opened her own company Leisurely Real Estate and was licensed in multiple states. She was a graduate in 2019 of the William C. Bass Leadership Academy and named to the REALTOR Magazine’s “30 Under 30 List” of distinguished national realtors. She was a talented marketer, entrepreneur, author, event planner, multiple business owner and mentor whose influence reached far beyond her own business. She was working on her second children’s book in her “Learn To Earn Series” after “Learning to Earn with Romanza Madge” dedicated to her beloved Aunt Romanza.
Following Hurricane Helene, Cristina and Greg gave generously of their time and resources to support Western North Carolina communities, reflecting their heart for service and helping others. For her efforts, Canopy Housing Foundation recognized Cristina by awarding her the 2024 Humanitarian Award.
Cristina had a smile that was infectious, but her smile was never bigger than when she was with her beloved Greg and their son, Ryder. Ryder was a joyful, mischievous 5 year old and loved any and everything with wheels. Even at the age of four he was driving his mini motorcycle up the dirt road to Nene and Baba’s house to spend an afternoon. He loved taking things apart, but hadn’t quite figured out how to put things back together. He started out saying he wanted to be a NASCAR driver, but this Christmas he said he wanted Formula 1 cars. Ouch! He will be missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
A celebration of life is being planned. Details will be shared when available. Thank you for your continued support of our privacy during this difficult time.
The family encourages charitable donations in honor of Greg’s and Cristina’s service-minded spirit through the Red Cross and Lake Norman Humane.
