Curtis Desmon Phillips was born on September 28, 1977 in Washington, D.C., to the late Robert Phillips Jr. and Natalie Yvonne Phillips. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Destin Phillips and Curtis Davis.

Curtis attended Washington, D.C., Public Schools and resided in Maryland. He enjoyed cooking on the grill, traveling and spending time with his family. He was truly a Washington Commanders fan (previously Washington Redskins).

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Charlene Phillps of the home; his sons, Kenya Phillips, Cody S. Dorsey and Teleio Robertson; his daughters, Destinee Phillips, Cobi Duger, Kavonna Word, Curtease Goodman and Shantease Goodman; his stepchildren, Alonzo, Kiara, Malia and Malik; his brother, Robert Phillips III; his sister, Robin Phillips; his uncle, Earnest Phillips; his aunts, Christine Parks, Annie Phillips and Laneeta M. Phillips; sisters-in-law, Tamiko, Tanisha, Janie, Rochelle and Necy; his brothers-in-law, Jason Lyles, Octavious, Jeremiah, Johnny and Lavelle; his favorite cousins, Tina Parks and Daniel Barfield; his god sister, Brenda Curry; his nieces, Zariah Lyles, Rozlin Hardy, Monica Hardy, Brittany Hardy, Brianna Hardy, Myeshe Hardy, Juanae Hardy, Matriece Phillips, and Dasjhae; his nephews, Charles hardy, Robert Hardy, Rico Metts, Davanta Sanders, Mark Davis and Chris White; and a host of other relatives and friends.

General Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 6 until 9 p.m. at R.N. Horton Company Morticians, 600 Kennedy Street NW, Washington, DC 20011.

General Viewing will begin on Saturday, August 2, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home from 4:30 until 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 12 noon. Members of the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
